Our close-knit community is built on football and cricket –– and now we want to be the leader amongst supporting clubs by addressing climate change through sustainable and renewable community energy.
Goodwood Cricket Club and Goodwood Saints Football Club jointly share an amazing facility and a community of people that participate in sport and/or help others to participate in sport.
Climate change is a real problem that we need to take action on immediately and we recognised sport has a major role to play in protecting our future generations.
We are thrilled to launch this Community Energy Group so our community access affordable renewable energy and help raise money for our clubs.
Part of your energy bill – around $1 per week – is donated to your Collective’s nominated purpose. 100% of these donations go directly towards this common goal.
Members who switch to buy energy through The People’s Grid. Allies strengthen our grid and help us fund future energy and climate projects.
People who add to the grid through rooftop solar. Amplifiers are paid to feed excess solar into The People’s Grid. They help power the community.

For the first time, households and small business customers have the option to build their own grid. That means directly buying and sharing energy from local, renewable energy producers. Find the energy generator that aligns with your values and vision, or sits close to heart and home.
Many collectives on The People's Grid are actively working on projects that make a social or climate impact within their community. To help fund their project, the Collective will often add a small dollar amount to their energy offering (e.g. $1 per week for residential customers). This money is directly donated to the Collective to help them hit their goal. This means your good energy decision also directly benefits your local community.
A quick note: not all Collectives will offer an extra membership fee. Some might not have their own social impact project as such. They may exist just to spread awareness and encourage as many people as possible to switch to local, renewable energy.
You will receive a solar feed-in just as you would with any other retailer. The great thing about signing up through a Collective is that the electricity exported from your solar panels is matched to community members. This means you'll be able to see how much electricity you supply to other members of yours Collective!
You can read all the details about our solar feed-in agreement here.
